Are you willing to die for the sake of the Gospel? Try it sometime. Take a stand for righteousness; step out of the little hellhole you call a comfort zone and DO something for a change. How can you, the one who knows the truth, sit back and watch people go to hell? You just shake your head and say “that’s so sad, they just went to hell.” You know what’s sad? You are. Really, what’s the point in living if you’re going to waste your time doing nothing? How screwed up can you be, keeping the Savior to yourself? What, you’re not even going to try? Stop pretending everything’s okay. Snap out of your stupid denial: this is a matter of life and death. Rise against the power of Satan. Fight back. We’re in a war, and you’re letting the enemy break through the lines. What’s worse, someone being eternally damned for mere ignorance of God, or you letting them? You know the way to Life! Or do you really? Just a reminder, a man died for you once. Follow His example. Die for someone else.

Edit: Hey, guys. I know that the above post seems kind of harsh. That’s because it is. Honestly, it really saddens me when I see people who profess Jesus as their savior living the complete opposite way. We should all be living in victory over sin! Not to say we’re all there yet. Sanctification is a process. It’s amazing what God can do through you if you let him. Just know I’m writing completely out of love for you and the ones who still need to hear about Jesus. Love you, everybody! I hope you were challenged in some way by my post. I know I was.

Edit 2: You know, I forgot to tell you what fighting in this war looks like for us. It’s not physically violent, maybe not even emotionally violent. Our weapon is our love for each other. Love, guys. That’s what will change the world. That’s what we need to show, to live out. God IS love. Selfishness is an enemy. That’s why we need to die to self. We can never show unconditional love to others if we’re too busy trying to please ourselves.

Of course it’s coming from a loving place. I guess it is kind of harsh, though. I just started reading Wild At Heart, and I’ve been listening to a lot of P.O.D. lately… I think I’ll write in some extra clarifications and such.
RYC: Faith can be a good thing if it helps one strive to live a fulfilling and bounteous life. I’m reading Joel Osteen’s Your Best Life Now and, despite my ahteistic leanings, I’m finding his personal faith and explanations of God’s expectations for us very uplifting and motivating. But I believe the best road to self-actualization is acheived through self-reliance and personal discipline. Religious discipline involves relinquishing your internal power (i.e. your soul) to a higher power. How can you ever acheive anything independently if you are convinced that your life energy comes from above? You are limiting yourself greatly by placing your power outside of yourself and by believing that this energy is administered according to a strict system of rewards and punishments. As long as you remain on favorable terms with your creator everything in your life will go according to plan. But what happens when you slip up and look at the lady bending over at the grocery store to pick up some fruit she dropped? Too many slip ups and suddenly the car won’t start, you’re late for work and your job’s in jeopardy, your mother gets sick, etc. And you think your God is punishing you so you have to work extra hard to please Him.
Atheism is all about stripping away these unnecessary complications to our lives and living for today. I can live much easier (I used to be a devout Christian) now that I don’t have to carry around a milstone of guilt all the time. I used to postpone pleasures and responsibilities because I believed God was giving me signals to wait until His time was right for me. I used to sit back and look for signs from God telling me how to live my life. Now if I want to do something I just f–ing do it! I guess my atheism started when I realized the popular adage “God only helps those who help themselves” is more true than I ever imagined. Once I took the helm of my life I realized I didn’t need God. And once I began to read more into atheism I realized there are too many flaws in religious belief, practice, customs (whatever) to ever justify being devout.
Even if us atheists are wrong about God and Jesus do we really deserve to burn in everlasting torment for it?
The last part of my comment clearly reveals that I didn’t read your post for today. So, according to you, I will burn in a lake of fire when I die, yes? If you seriously believe that then you need to get a grip on yourself. Take a walk, smell the flowers, write an angry poem to let your hate out. The reason people don’t spend every second of their waking day fawning to some draconian demigod like you and your kind do is because they have lives. They are practical, rational people. Try it some time, it might do you some good. Tomorrow night I suggest you disable the V chip (Victory Chip) on your TV and indulge in some sinful prime time network television. Try to forget about where your soul is going when you die for a couple of hours and see how the other half lives.
I like the way you threw in the word “Sanctification” …Nice! You must have been studying your ENLI notes. 😀
It is about love! Jesus came to give us life to the full, and sin is such a drain! Trust in the Lord for the great adventure of walking in obedience. With all that He gives us, who needs that other stuff?
