Is breathing simply a defensive reaction to a lack of oxygen? I don’t believe so. If that was truly the case, why do we have lungs? Lungs didn’t just pop into our bodies when, as infants, we made the terrifying discovery that our oxygen levels were getting low. No, we were born with lungs. They are part of our nature. In some smallest part of our Creator’s mind, He knew that human beings would need oxygen to survive, and He designed our natural bodies to be complete with a set of lungs.
Was the death of Jesus Christ a defensive reaction to our sin? Did God need us back so badly that He just had to send a Savior? I don’t believe so. God knew from the beginning of time that He loved us. Salvation is in His Nature. Our time line came complete with a Messiah.
“For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.”
