Fixing our eyes on Jesus, to know the One who loves us so deeply, is the only way to be sure of ourselves. He is perfection. The beauty of that man outweighs all the beauty in the earth. He is perfectly ready to welcome us home to heaven, perfectly willing to bless us even now.
If you compare yourself at first with Him, you find yourself to be a wretched sinner. And you ask, “How can I ever hope to be good?” Then when you keep looking, you find in joy that He is beckoning you. Can you believe your eyes? Can you believe that radiant One who calls, “Come up here!”
Have faith that God is good! Who He is is good. What He wants is good. Who He wants… is good. Do you know that He wants you? Do you believe that? You are His prized possession, His beautiful bride! When you look at Him and respond to Him with love and desire, you are not a sinner. You are perfect(or soon will be), because He says so.
When faced with that kind of love, why would we want to sin? May we continue to glorify the name of Jesus Christ as His Kingdom advances.
“But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”–Hebrews 11:16
